Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Mechanic to keep all fleet vehicles roadworthy and ready for service. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs, review inspection reports, and follow safety rules to protect workers in a busy shop.

This role requires knowledge of hydraulic systems, basic welding, and the ability to operate forklifts or lifts. Class A CDL is a plus; candidates should be detail‑oriented and ready to work in a team. Full-time, on-site with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School diploma or GED.
• One year or more of previous mechanic experience, to include operating forklifts/man lifts.
• Must have own tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs all preventive maintenance and repair work necessary on fleet vehicles.
• Reviews driver vehicle inspection reports.
• Responsible for being familiar with and observing all company safety rules and regulations; recognizes that safety is top company priority; attends regularly scheduled safety meetings.
• Need to have good understanding of hydraulic systems.
• Need to have basic welding knowledge.
• Sweeps, cleans, organizes shop using 5S principles.
• Maybe required to answer roadside calls for disabled vehicles.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Mechanic is responsible for keeping all vehicles in the fleet roadworthy and ready for service when needed.
