Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles from 1/2 ton vehicles to Kenworth 880's and P567's. You will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical issues on equipment, ensuring they remain in optimal working condition for demanding projects.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various fleet equipment to include HydroVac trucks and equipment.
- Hours are 6 am - 6 pm with On Call Emergencies
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and make repairs as needed.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe to operate.
- Collaborate with project managers, operators, and other team members to ensure equipment readiness for construction activities.
- Troubleshoot and repair engine, transmission, and hydraulic systems, among other critical components.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations, prioritizing safe working practices at all times.
- Assist in managing inventory and ordering necessary parts for equipment repairs.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience as an ASE Certified mechanic, preferably with a background in fleet management or working for a Hydro Vac operation.
- Must have own tools. Specialty tools will be provided
- Knowledge of the maintenance and repair of a variety of heavy construction machinery
- Knowledge of the maintenance and repair of fleet trucks and trailers.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with MIG/TIG/Stick welding, fabrication, and heavy equipment diagnostics tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects, work in outdoor environments, and perform repairs in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- A valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is required and to have a Tanker endorsement.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training programs to stay current on new equipment technologies and safety protocols.
