Job summary

Comfort Temp Company is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic in Gainesville, FL to maintain and repair our diverse equipment fleet, including forklifts, scissor lifts, welders and trucks. The role focuses on reliability, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance to keep operations moving.

You will work across multiple sites with gooseneck and box trailers, adhering to OSHA, EPA, and crane/rigging standards while collaborating with a supportive team and pursuing growth through in-house training.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and obtain certifications including Cranes and Rigging, OSHA and EPA, with company support.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and develop effective repair solutions to minimize downtime.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
• Coordinate with external service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Assist with the implementation of safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA 10, Cranes and Rigging, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory.
• Ability to perform vehicle modifications, tool racks and service body racks, etc.
• Work across multiple locations and haul equipment and larger units.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equipment maintenance and repair, with a focus on ensuring the reliability and functionality of our fleet and equipment. This position will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of equipment, including all-terrain forklifts, scissor lifts, material lifts, mini excavators, welders, air compressors, and of course motor vehicles

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and develop effective repair solutions to minimize downtime.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
• Coordinate with external service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Assist with the implementation of safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA 10, Cranes and Rigging, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory.
• Ability to perform vehicle modifications, tools racks and service body racks etc.
• Working in various locations on any given day of the week and hauling equipment and larger units
• Expert Ability to drive a gooseneck trailer, 24ft box trailer and others as needed to load and unload materials and tools safely
• Experience working on construction equipment (excavators, scissor lifts, man lifts and forklifts)

Preferred/Required Qualifications:

• Willingness to learn and obtain certifications, including Cranes and Rigging, OSHA, and EPA, with company support and funding
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  
• Flexibility to work at multiple office locations as needed

Tools and Equipment:

Candidates for this position should possess or have access to the following tools and equipment:

• Basic hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, etc.)
• Electrical testing equipment (multimeter, wire strippers, etc.)
• Welding equipment (if applicable)
