Salary: $24-$28 an hour

Timis Tours is looking for a Fleet Mechanic at our Evansville, IN location. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on various company fleet vehicles, gasoline and diesel, according to FMCSA and industry regulations. The ideal candidate has a specific focus on heavy-duty vehicles and a preference for commercial motor coach buses (MCI & Prevost).

Responsibilities Include:

• Work alongside our existing mechanic staff
• Participate in continuing education
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance
• Diagnose & repair mechanical & electrical breakdowns
• Conduct safety inspections at preset intervals
• Utilize computer electronic systems to interpret failures
• Maintain maintenance logs

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary vocational education is strongly preferred
• Minimum 1 year of mechanic experience
• Willingness to attend and complete ongoing technical training, which may include remote and online learning
• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to obtain a DOT Medical Certificate
• Ability to pass a post-offer background check

Additional Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to work any schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Proficiency with on-board computer systems and desktop computers (PC, Windows, Microsoft Office)
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently for communication, understanding traffic signs, and record-keeping
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Physical ability to lift, push, and pull weights in excess of 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally over 100 pounds
• Some travel may be required

Compensation:

Position salary will be based on experience and technical knowledge at hire and determined by management. This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week, with occasional mandatory overtime. Pay is bi-weekly.
