Job Overview:

Fleet Mechanic II - Detroit MI

About the Role

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to automobiles, trucks (light and heavy), trailers, vans, and forklifts.
• Disassemble and overhaul motors, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, and electrical systems.
• Complete all necessary documentation, including vehicle records.
• Manage ordering and inventory of parts.
• Act as a mentor to the class I mechanics.

Shift and Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 11:00 am until finished
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed

Total Rewards:

• Pay starting at $29.50 per hour

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum 2 years of mechanic experience on a fleet
• Ability to work on all types of vehicles
• Lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds
• Own a set of tools necessary for the job
• Willing and able to acquire certifications and licenses within the first year, including: ASE Heavy and Medium duty certification, DOT CDL A, DOT brake and annual inspection certification, and A/C certification
