Requirements We Look For In A Fleet Mechanic
- Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Fleet Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or Heavy Equipment Mechanic experience required
- Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issuesAbility to work independently in the field and manage service calls effectively
- Valid driver’s license required
- ASE certifications are a plus, but not required
- Must be dependable, professional, and customer-service oriented
Fleet Mechanics Are
- Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining fleet and diesel equipment at customer locations.
- Responsible for performing preventative maintenance inspections and identifying mechanical issues before equipment failure occurs.
- Responsible for repairs involving brakes, batteries, tires, fluid services, electrical systems, hydraulics, engines, and general fleet maintenance.
- Responsible for troubleshooting medium-duty trucks, heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, tractors, and additional fleet vehicles.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of completed repairs, parts usage, and service records.
- Responsible for communicating repair recommendations and equipment concerns directly with customers in a professional manner.
- Responsible for prioritizing repair needs to minimize downtime and maintain customer operations.
- Responsible for representing the company professionally while working at customer and service locations.
- Responsible for maintaining communication with management regarding repairs, parts needs, scheduling and service updates.
- Responsible for following all company safety procedures and operational standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
