Job summary

City of St. George in Utah is seeking a Master Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel, gasoline, and heavy-duty vehicles, including fire apparatus, police, transit buses, trucks, and other equipment.

You will receive paid training, ASE certification support, tool and boot allowances, and a comprehensive benefits package as part of a 4-day work week (6am–5pm) schedule with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education may substitute for experience.
• Minimum eight years full-time experience in automotive/diesel/heavy equipment repair.
• Thorough knowledge of wiring complete electrical systems and CAN/multiplex networks.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics and use OBDII tools.
• Valid driver's license; CDL Class B preferred with certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel, gasoline, and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Perform preventive maintenance and state safety inspections.
• Up-fit vehicles requiring extensive electrical and software knowledge.
• Read diagnostic data and apply repair strategies; document repair notes.
