Job summary

Stevens Transport, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee a non-union, long-haul driver fleet, ensuring safe, on-time delivery. You will coach drivers, review schedules, assign routes, and drive KPIs across service, safety, utilization, and retention in a fast-paced environment.

You will communicate with internal teams, optimize load assignments, and maintain a positive, collaborative workplace while ensuring DOT compliance and proper training when needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in professional work setting, transportation preferred.
• Experience with DOT regulations is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound events for assigned long-haul driver fleet.
• Coach and advocate for drivers across company divisions.
• Review pick-up/delivery schedules to maintain HOS availability.
• Inform drivers of customer and company expectations with freight assignments.
• Route drivers for home time and secure equipment as needed.
• Motivate drivers to meet KPIs: utilization, service, safety, retention.
• Counsel drivers on safety violations and arrange retraining.
• Provide real-time data to load planning and tracking systems.
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
