Caterpillar's Job Site Solutions (JSS) group, part of the Resource Industries Sales, Services and Technology division, is currently seeking a Fleet Manager.

In this role, you will be responsible for fulfilling customers' specific contractual commitments in a profitable manner. These commitments include specific deliverables in equipment management, production optimization, safety, sustainability, and financial performance. You will work directly with customer executive management, site management, equipment operators, and Cat dealers across a variety of heavy equipment environments, including waste and industrial applications.

What You Will Do:

Leading customer engagements and providing matrix leadership for contract execution.

Achieving alignment of various parties within the customer, dealer, and Caterpillar organizations.

Partnering with dealer personnel to direct the day-to-day activity related to contractual commitments at each site contract.

Successfully delivering on all areas of contractual commitments by utilizing a complete understanding of the customer application and Caterpillar and dealer capability.

Providing a clear vision for success and driving high levels of execution to achieve our commitments through deep subject matter expertise in equipment management, production optimization, safety, sustainability and financial structuring.

Partnering with customers and dealers to improve fleet availability, equipment reliability, asset utilization, and total cost of ownership.

Utilizing operational, maintenance, and equipment performance data to identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, machine health, and financial results.

Providing and applying solutions to problems in a customer-working environment.

Working with Caterpillar product groups and other internal business units to understand the technical and operational capabilities of our equipment, technology, and services.

Creating innovative new value-added capabilities to improve site operations.

What You Will Have:
Technical Excellence:

Direct field experience working with/for dealers and/or customers. Experience managing heavy equipment fleets, maintenance operations, equipment performance, or production activities within waste, mining, quarry, construction, industrial, or similar industries.

Customer Focus:

Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

Products and Services:

Deep product knowledge, application experience with equipment and production technologies, and the ability to successfully manage contracts to profitability. Experience leveraging telematics, condition monitoring, equipment health data, and fleet management practices to drive customer value is highly desirable.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking:

Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Effective Communications:

Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, that range from operational and technical discussions to Dealer Principal and Executive presentations.

Negotiating:

Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Relationship Management:

Superior relationship-building skills and the ability to execute through a team of Caterpillar, Dealer, and Customer personnel.

Value Selling:

Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service value and differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

Working knowledge of technology products, financial products, machine lifecycle and economics, product support, condition monitoring, safety, and environmental operations.

Understanding of Caterpillar Dealer coverage and operations.

Demonstrated deep subject matter expertise and experience in the management of heavy-equipment fleets or direct responsibility for maintenance and repair contract management.

Experience supporting equipment-intensive operations such as landfill, transfer station, mining, quarry, construction, industrial, or material handling environments.

Additional Details:

This position requires the candidate to work in the Cary, NC office.

Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Work authorization sponsorship is not offered.

Travel requirement: Approximately 50%.

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
