Job summary

Trinity Metro in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Training Instructor for Fleet Maintenance to ensure staff gain the knowledge, skills, and safety practices needed for reliable operations. This role leads training development, coordinates programs with a Training Specialist, and evaluates trainee progress to drive continuous improvement.

The position requires four years in fleet maintenance or technical instruction, CDL eligibility, and strong ability to convey technical concepts to diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 credit hours in Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Vocational Instruction, Transportation, or related field.
• Four years of experience in vehicle/fleet maintenance or technical instruction.
• Experience developing and delivering technical, safety, or employee training preferred.
• Must be able to communicate technical information effectively to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Identify training needs within Fleet Maintenance and develop targeted programs.
• Deliver classroom, hands-on, and on-the-job training for fleet staff.
• Develop lesson plans, tests, and training materials to support effective learning.
• Assess trainee knowledge and adjust training to improve performance.
• Maintain training records and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
