Job summary

FirstEnergy is hiring at our Long Branch/N. Dover NJ service location for a skilled mechanical technician role.

The candidate will perform installation, maintenance, and repair of automotive, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment, including braking and powertrain components, with emphasis on diagnostics and safety compliance. Minimum four years in related work, ASE certifications preferred, and ability to read schematics and manuals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years of diversified experience in maintenance and repair of automotive vehicles and equipment, including hydraulics and ASE certifications.
• Thorough practical knowledge of heavy-duty vehicles and mobile equipment.
• Ability to read manuals, drawings, blueprints, hydraulic schematics, and specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of automotive, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
• Overhaul, inspect, repair, test, remove, install, replace, fit, and adjust engines and components.
• Inspect brake systems, transmissions, cooling, and fuel systems; diagnose faults and report needs for major work.
• Direct, instruct, and train helpers; maintain records and ensure safety practices.
• Perform welding, brazing, cutting, Mig/Tig welding; adjust equipment for proper operation.
