Job summary

Publix Super Markets is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician at various levels (A, B or C) to service a range of fleet vehicles and equipment in accordance with company policy and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining vehicles per manuals and schematics, with a commitment to quality and safety while working in a team. The role may require night shifts and extended hours, and training toward ASE certification is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Be at least 20 years old.
• Have a valid driver's license and authorization to drive a company vehicle.
• Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods.
• Able to lift a minimum of 65 pounds.
• Able to read, write and solve math problems.
• Complete required tests before start: Basic Office Skills, Following Written Instructions, Spatial and Mechanical Reasoning.
• Able to interpret, understand, and follow instructions and work with CMMS.
• Aim to obtain ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Distribution associate
• Be able to read and interpret technical manuals
• Have at least two or more years of medium/heavy duty truck trade school or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of ARC, MIG, and GAS welding and cutting
• Basic knowledge of welding techniques (aluminum and steel)
• Have mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of fleet equipment, as well as knowledge of circuits and operational sequence of components
• One year of medium/heavy duty truck trade school or equivalent experience.

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay.
