Job summary

Publix Super Markets in Florida is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance on powered industrial equipment batteries according to company policy, federal, state and local regulations, repair manuals, and factory specifications.

You will also assist in other duties as assigned and must be able to lift at least 40 pounds, work nights and weekends, obtain certification to operate equipment, read and write, and demonstrate strong problem-solving and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old (19 for Alabama).
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
• Ability to obtain certification and operate powered industrial equipment.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Successful completion of tests: Computation, Following Written Directions, Space Visualization, Mechanical Aptitude.
• Ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
• Capable of using a computerized maintenance-management system.
• Team player with good attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to advance and contribute to Publix mission.

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
