Job summary

The University at Buffalo is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor 2 (Motor Equipment) in the Campus Operations Department to oversee skilled mechanical work in the fleet maintenance shop. The role covers maintenance, repair, and overhaul of gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel equipment, with potential 24/7 coverage.

You will supervise staff, coordinate schedules, train personnel in safety, and ensure accurate status in the Fleet management system.

Qualifications

• Valid NYS CDL B driver's license with Tow Truck/Tanker endorsements with no airbrake restriction.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff engaged in maintenance, overhaul, and repair of gasoline, electric, and/or diesel-powered motor equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules and shop activities.
• Serve as a functional supervisor for areas such as production coordination, preventive maintenance, or repair crew.
• Supervise mechanics performing repair/overhaul work and guide staff.
• Observe, document, and approve completed work to ensure schedules and quality.
