Job summary

The University at Buffalo is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor 2 (Motor Equipment) within the Campus Operations Department. You will oversee skilled mechanical work in the fleet maintenance shop and supervise the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of gasoline, diesel-powered, and alternative-fuel equipment.

Field work for routine maintenance and repairs may be required. You may need to provide 24/7 coverage, coordinate schedules, and oversee shop activities while guiding staff to meet schedules

Qualifications

• Experience supervising maintenance staff in a fleet repair environment.
• Strong understanding of maintenance, overhaul, and repair of motor equipment including gasoline, diesel and alternative fuels.
• Ability to coordinate schedules and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff engaged in maintenance, overhaul, and repair of motor equipment.
• Ensure 24/7 coverage as required.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules and shop activities.
• Serve as a functional supervisor for production coordination or preventive maintenance.
• Supervise mechanics and provide guidance on techniques and tasks.
• Inspect work and ensure quality and timeliness.
