Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance personnel and equipment readiness at a FedEx Freight shop location. You will lead a team, plan staffing, and coordinate with Operations to resolve equipment issues.

The role requires leadership experience in vehicle maintenance, knowledge of DOT rules, and the ability to manage costs while maintaining safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years vehicle maintenance with at least 6 months supervisory/management experience.
• Must be able to operate a manual transmission truck.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations preferred.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Must be multi-tasked oriented and organized.
• Basic Microsoft Office and Internet skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop employees.
• Ensure equipment repairs are completed in a high-quality and timely manner.
• Monitor employee performance and provide corrective action.
• Plan daily staffing to meet workload.
• Provide support to Operations regarding equipment-related issues.
• Monitor and analyze opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
• Perform payroll approval, repair order maintenance and compliance documentation.
• Ensure clean, safe working conditions of the facility and equipment.
• Communicate with Fleet Maintenance leadership to align with Operations needs.
• Identify equipment sent to outside vendors for repairs.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings with employees and weekly meetings with Operations team.
• Collaborate with Safety and other departments on safety matters.
