Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to manage maintenance personnel and ensure equipment readiness at a shop location. You will lead teams, schedule staffing, and drive timely repairs to meet operational needs, while maintaining safety and compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, engineering understanding, and the ability to coordinate with Operations to resolve equipment issues. Occasional travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Requires 2 years of vehicle maintenance experience with at least 6 months in a lead/supervisory role.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission truck to assess operation.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations preferred.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Multitasking and strong organizational skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office and Internet skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop employees.
• Ensure repairs are completed with high quality and timeliness.
• Monitor performance and take corrective action.
• Plan daily staffing to meet workload.
• Provide support to Operations on equipment issues.
• Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
• Handle payroll approvals and compliance documents.
• Maintain safe working conditions.
• Communicate with Fleet Maintenance leadership.
• Coordinate outside vendor repairs as needed.
• Lead pre-shift and weekly operations meetings.
• Assist safety investigations as needed.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
