Job summary

MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) seeks a maintenance supervisor to oversee a team responsible for preventive maintenance, inspection, overhaul, servicing and repair of diesel and natural gas fleets. The role requires an Associate degree in Mechanics or related field plus four years of heavy equipment maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or related field with four years' heavy equipment maintenance experience.
• Experience in diesel and natural gas fleet maintenance and repair.
• Familiarity with CMMS and inventory control systems.
• Strong oral and written communication and computer skills.
• Directly related work experience may substitute education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate maintenance personnel for fleet maintenance and repair.
• Instruct and coach staff; ensure proper use of diagnostic equipment.
• Serve as first-line quality assurance to ensure repairs are thorough.
• Manage time and attendance records; enforce labor contract.
• Oversee maintenance of shop assets and stock expendables.
• Maintain orderly garage workspace and enforce operational standards.
