Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the shop team, plan daily maintenance, coordinate repairs, and enforce a robust preventive maintenance program to keep equipment safe and operable.

You will maintain safety and inspection records, manage inventory up to $750, hire and train staff, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• DOT brake inspection certification required.
• CDL within 6 months of hire.
• Annual Vehicle Inspection certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance staff and satellite shop facilities.
• Directly supervise all employees in the maintenance department through planning and directing work.
• Make repairs to vehicles and equipment and follow-up on all repairs.
• Establish and enforce a preventative maintenance program and schedule repairs.
• Maintain safety and inspection records per regulations and company policies.
• Ensure shop complies with safety standards.
• Confer with Operations to arrange equipment releases for inspections and service.
• Schedule and conduct safety meetings and document attendees.
• Maintain cost-effective inventory and manage purchases up to $750.
