Job summary

Empire Livestock LLC. in Colorado's Greeley/Mountain Area seeks a DFA maintenance shop manager to direct daily operations, planning preventive and corrective maintenance for DFA-owned equipment, and leading mechanics to uphold safety, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities include scheduling repairs, supervising budgets, reviewing DVIRs, ensuring OSHA/DOT compliance, and coaching staff to improve performance while maintaining cost controls.

Qualifications

• Education and experience as described: high school diploma or GED with 5 years in diesel/heavy equipment repair or technical degree with 3 years in diesel repair.
• ASE Master Certified preferred; CAFM certifications preferred; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise daily/weekly maintenance for DFA-owned equipment.
• Direct mechanics to ensure safe, efficient fleet repairs.
• Oversee shop budgets, labor, supplies, and inventory within budget.
• Review DVIRs; ensure proper paperwork, parts usage, and custody.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations and safety procedures.
• Perform annual employee reviews and HR coaching.
• Maintain knowledge of diesel systems and perform advanced maintenance.
• Promote safety culture and investigate incidents with Safety/Environmental Manager.
• Develop vendor relationships for pricing and quality.
• Create schedules and resolve payroll issues with HR.
