Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Shop Manager to oversee daily maintenance shop operations for its fleet and equipment.

You will lead technicians, manage preventive maintenance, inspections, and breakdown response to ensure uptime and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include prioritizing work orders, overseeing inventory and vendor relations, and driving cost efficiency while collaborating with Operations, Dispatch, Safety, and Corporate Maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in fleet, transportation, or industrial maintenance.
• 2+ years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of diesel equipment, trailers, or related assets.
• Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Proficiency with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day shop operations, including preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and breakdown response.
• Ensure fleet readiness to support transportation, warehousing, and logistics operations.
• Schedule and prioritize work orders to minimize downtime and maximize asset utilization.
• Oversee inventory levels, parts procurement, and vendor relationships.
