Job summary

You will manage a complete inventory system covering vehicles, parts, equipment, and fuel, and you will negotiate for purchases of fleet assets and services. The role requires overseeing preventative maintenance programs, maintaining records, and training and supervising staff, with emphasis on safety and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Auto/mechanics coursework at a trade school.
• 6 years of mechanic experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Equivalent education/experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors a preventative maintenance program.
• Maintain inventory of vehicles, parts, equipment, and fuel.
• Monitor vehicle and equipment utilization and specifications.
• Develop and maintain a mechanic training and certification program.
• Enforce safety practices and ensure safety training.
• Train, evaluate, and discipline employees.
• Assist in fleet services budgeting and spending.
• Develop vehicle/equipment specifications for the fleet.
• Keep maintenance records and order repair parts.
