Job summary

Deer Valley Resort in Utah seeks a Level III Fleet Maintenance Mechanic with advanced experience in gas/diesel engines and hydraulic/electronic systems to service resort equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of fleet vehicles.

The role requires 5+ years in related work, high school education or automotive training, and a valid driver’s license. ASE certs are a plus, with benefits including housing options and ski perks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience.
• High school education, formal automotive training, or equivalent.
• ASE Certifications a plus.
• Hydraulics and/or electronics training.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to lift heavy items and work in adverse conditions.
• Ample tool inventory: hand tools, air tools, diagnostics, etc.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on all fleet vehicles in an expedient fashion.
• Maintain gas and diesel engines.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulics/electrical components.
• Train and mentor Level I and II technicians, guiding less experienced staff.
• Assist Level IV technicians as needed.
• Perform moderate fabrication projects and custom modifications.
• Document all parts usage and work done on work orders.
• Follow shop safety practices and dress code.

Purpose of Position

A Level III Fleet Maintenance Mechanic requires advanced experience and knowledge with gas/diesel engines and hydraulics/electronics to perform maintenance on a variety of resort equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on all fleet vehicles in an expedient fashion.
• Maintain gas and diesel engines.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulics/electrical components.
• Train and mentor Level I and II technicians, giving advice and pointers to less experienced staff.
• Assist Level IV technicians as needed.
• Perform moderate fabrication projects and custom modifications.
• Improvise and pioneer efficient methods for service and repairs.
• Assist with some administrative duties; finding parts, writing P.O.’s, filing records.
• Document all parts usage and all work done on work orders.
• Follow all shop safety practices and dress code.
• Maintain clean tools and work area.
• Manage motor pool and have accountability for damage on a daily basis.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience.
• High school education, formal automotive training, or equivalent.
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications a plus.
• Specialty training such as hydraulics and/or electronics.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Must be able to lift heavy items and work in adverse conditions.
• Have an ample tool inventory: full hand tools, full air tools, diagnostic, etc.
