Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) seeks a Manager of Automotive & Equipment Maintenance in the NRVE Department to lead the Non-Revenue Vehicle Maintenance Division. This role oversees fleet cars, heavy equipment, high-rail and track-driven apparatus, and directs shop operations to ensure reliability and availability.

The position requires strong supervision, budgeting, procurement, and safety/regulatory compliance experience, plus CMMS familiarity and 24/7 on-call responsibilities.

Competenze

• Associate degree in automotive technology or closely related field required.
• Five years of automotive and equipment maintenance experience with at least two years in admin/supervisory roles.
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to obtain authorization to work in the United States.

Mansioni

• Assumes management responsibility for the Non-Revenue Vehicle Maintenance Division including fleet and equipment maintenance.
• Oversees staffing, operations, and shop activities (fabrication, welding, machine shop).
• Develops goals, policies and priorities for assigned programs; manages procurement and contracts.
• Plans, directs, and reviews work plans; evaluates methods and performance.
• Ensures compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards; maintains documentation.
• Coordinates with other divisions and outside agencies; participates in budgeting and reporting.
