Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a fleet operations supervisor to coordinate the truck fleet’s maintenance and shop activities. You will plan, direct and audit maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with safety rules and DOT regulations while leading a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, 4–6 years of fleet maintenance experience, and supervisory exposure to DOT requirements in the foodservice sector.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the operations of the mechanic shop ensuring maintenance and repairs are performed properly and efficiently
  • Plans, organizes, directs, supervises and evaluates activities and establishes priorities
  • Conducts utilization studies and evaluates fleet condition; makes replacement recommendations
  • Ensures safety regulations are followed
  • Leads others in performance of duties per laws and company policy
  • Maintains equipment in good working condition
  • Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs trucks, trailers and equipment
  • Ensures inspections and preventive maintenance are conducted
  • Prepares and maintains records and reports
  • Develops interpersonal relationships fostering openness and trust
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Position Purpose

Manages and coordinates the operational and maintenance activities of the Operating Company's (OpCo) truck fleet. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
  • Oversees the operations of the mechanic shop assuring all mechanical maintenance and repairs are performed properly and in the most efficient and economical manner possible.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, supervises and evaluates the activities, programs and operations, determines and establishes priorities.
  • Conducts utilization studies and evaluates the condition of the fleet on an ongoing basis; makes recommendations on the size and composition of the fleet and establishment of replacement criteria.
  • Ensures that all safety regulations are followed.
  • Manages, mentors and leads others in the performance of their duties in accordance with applicable laws and within company policy and procedures.
  • Maintains and keeps all equipment in good working condition.
  • Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs trucks, trailers and other equipment.
  • Ensures that inspections and preventive maintenance are conducted.
  • Prepares and maintains records and reports.
  • Maintains a clean shop.
  • Develops interpersonal relationships which encourage openness, candor and trust, both internally and externally.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent

4-6 Years of Experience with fleet equipment maintenance.

Team lead or supervisory experience with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations knowledge.

Preferred qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Business management or related area.

6-10 Years of fleet management equipment maintenance

Supervisory experience with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations knowledge within foodservice industry.
