You will lead department mechanics, manage external vendor relationships, and drive cost-reduction initiatives while ensuring compliance with preventive maintenance standards.

The role requires 3-5 years of progressive supervisory experience in automotive fleet, with ability to relocate within the area and travel locally between facilities.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of progressive supervisory and managerial experience within the automotive fleet industry.
  • Must reside within the geographical area of the job - relocation not offered.
  • Able to work days Monday-Friday with 2nd/3rd shift availability and travel locally between Virginia facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules preventive maintenance inspections and reviews results, monitors repairs, and performs vehicle audits to ensure safety and standards.
  • Analyzes equipment/vehicle failures to determine root causes and coordinates repairs with internal and external groups.
  • Ensures adequate inventory levels (parts, tires, etc.) to support business processes.
  • Adheres to purchasing limits and expense approval procedures to stay within cost plan.
  • Reviews and approves automotive expenses.
  • Determines employee training needs to support development plans.
  • Conducts performance evaluations and resolves performance issues.
