Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation seeks a Fleet HSE Director to lead safety, health and environmental programs across all fleet locations in the United States and Canada. You will develop, implement, and audit the HSE Management System, driving continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a four-year safety degree, BCSP preferred, and 5+ years as a Safety Manager, with strong leadership, communication, and incident-investigation expertise.

Qualifications

  • Four-year safety/health degree or equivalent experience.
  • BCSP or equivalent safety designation preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years as a Safety Manager or equivalent role.
  • Strong leadership and communication across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Fleet HSE Department and align with annual objectives.
  • Schedule, coordinate and document incident reviews and root-cause analysis.
  • Monitor HSE KPIs and regulatory compliance across all locations.
  • Chair the Fleet Executive HSE Committee and drive culture improvements.
  • Provide training and oversight for HSE management system implementation.

Job Overview:Position Summary:The Fleet HSE Director is responsible for directing, administering, and coordinating the Safety, Health and Environmental activities in accordance with the polices, goals and objectives established by Primoris Senior Leadership, Corporate, federal, state and local requirements. This position will be responsible to develop, implement, review, and approve all components of the HSE Management system. This encompasses all shop/office locations and activities of Primoris Fleet. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to listen and build relationships with operations. The Fleet HSE Director will regularly audit internal policies and procedures and make recommendations to the VP of HSE.Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:Provide leadership to the Fleet HSE DepartmentResponsible and accountable to ensure Primoris Fleet achieves its annual HSE Strategic Objectives/OutcomesSchedule, coordinates, and documents incident reviews following significant incidents and near missesCommunicate corrective actions and lessons learned across all Fleet locationsMonitor HSE specific Key Performance Indicators (KPI)Formulate and recommend annual HSE Objectives/OutcomesReview, monitor, and implement state and federal legislation changesProvide support, training, and oversight for the effective implementation of the HSE Management System throughout Primoris FleetAssist in conducting and/or scheduling of training (as required)Monitor and measure effectiveness of the HSE Management Systems and programsProvide regular updates regarding efficiency of HSE Management Systems, statistical data, and improvement opportunities to Primoris Fleet Executive HSE CommitteeChampion the organizations safety culture and make necessary adjustments or recommendations to improve the cultureLead HSE Management System revisions and implementation when requiredEnsure operations are provided with the proper HSE support to manage their office locations and shop(s)Demonstrate ownership and leadership by actively participating in formal inspections, audits, assessments and observationsReview and support all major incident investigations which may include leading and/or participation in CauseMap RCA’sProvide support for corrective action implementationIdentify and establish occupational clinics and other emergency services that are needed for all office/shop locationsOversee and approve standardization of HSE documentation including document control proceduresChair the Primoris Fleet Executive HSE Committee MeetingsEnsure that fair and full implementation of the Company’s HR policies and practices are in place across the DepartmentEnsure significant incident reporting is completed as per internal and external requirementsSupport office/shop locations within Canada & USSupervise, mentor, train and assist Fleet HSE team (HSE Coordinators, HSE Administrators, Field Technicians) in implementing and maintaining HSE compliance, policies and proceduresVarious other duties as requested by managementEducation/Experience:Four-year Occupational safety/health degree or equivalent combinations of training and or experienceA valid safety professional designation issued by the BCSP (or equivalent) is preferred.Advanced knowledge and ability to comply with federal, state, local and company safety regulation requirementsKnowledge of Fleet safety and heavy equipment safety preferredA minimum of 5 years of experience as a Safety ManagerSKILLS:Ability to recognize imminent danger and act accordinglyAbility to listen well and take in feedback from the employee perspective without passing judgementExcellent recordkeeping abilitiesMust have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving recordAbility to give presentations to large groups of employeesProficient in Microsoft OfficeAbility to organize and prioritize numerous tasksGood communication skills (oral, written, listening, and presentation)Ability to motivate othersEffective interpersonal and supervisory skillStrong interpersonal, communication & presentation skillsAttention to detail with excellent writing/editing skillsAble to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusionsAdvanced computer skills, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Intelex, etcA self-starter requiring minimal supervision with the ability to multi-task and define prioritiesAbility to represent the company in a professional and courteous mannerCompany Overview:Primoris Services Corporation is a premier specialty contractor providing critical infrastructure services to the utility, energy, and renewables markets throughout the United States and Canada.
