Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation is seeking a Sr. Equipment Supervisor to oversee a diverse fleet of heavy equipment and vehicles for construction projects.

The role focuses on leadership of mechanics, technicians, and operators, while steering preventive maintenance programs and ensuring uptime. The position requires strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, plus OSHA compliance and accurate recordkeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• 7+ years progressive experience in heavy equipment maintenance; 3+ years in a supervisory role.
• Experience diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on construction equipment.
• Strong OSHA knowledge and safe-work practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of equipment mechanics, technicians, and operators; provide guidance and evaluations.
• Develop and monitor preventative maintenance programs for all equipment.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and coordinate repairs.
• Manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies; ensure adequate stock levels.
• Oversee equipment mobilization/demobilization to job sites and secure transport.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, inspection, and hours records.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with project managers to schedule usage and allocate resources.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities in equipment management.

Job Overview:Job SummaryThe Sr. Equipment Supervisor at Primoris Services Corporation is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of a diverse fleet of heavy equipment and vehicles, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency for construction and industrial projects.Job Responsibilities* Supervise and lead a team of equipment mechanics, technicians, and operators, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.* Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs for all company-owned and leased equipment, including excavators, dozers, cranes, trucks, and other specialized machinery.* Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various types of heavy equipment and coordinate appropriate repairs.* Manage equipment inventory, including parts, tools, and supplies, and ensure adequate stock levels to minimize downtime.* Oversee equipment mobilization and demobilization to and from job sites, ensuring proper loading, securing, and transportation.* Maintain accurate records of all equipment maintenance, repairs, inspections, and operational hours.* Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards related to equipment operation and maintenance.* Collaborate with project managers and field superintendents to schedule equipment usage, allocate resources, and address equipment-related challenges.* Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions in equipment management and maintenance.* Assist in the procurement of new equipment, assessing specifications and suitability for project needs.Job Qualifications* High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or technical certification in heavy equipment repair, diesel mechanics, or a related field is preferred.* Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role.* Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on a wide range of construction equipment.* Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and best practices for equipment safety.* Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment management software.* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL may be required.* Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions and on construction sites.* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Company Overview:Primoris Renewable Energy, a business within Primoris Services Corporation’s Energy segment, is a leading power generation engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) provider specializing in utility and commercial scale solar power, energy storage, solar repower, and operations and maintenance.
