Job summary

Moss, a national construction and solar EPC firm, seeks a Fleet Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair construction equipment across multiple job sites. The role requires on-site work in West Memphis, AR with high travel to FL/GA/AR regions and safety-compliant operations.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and coordinate with the Equipment Manager and vendors to ensure vehicles and gear are job-ready. Welding skills and DOT compliance are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum Associates Degree in a Heavy Equipment Program.
• Minimum 5 Years Construction Industry Experience.
• Maintain DOT physical for driving a commercial service truck. CDL preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of equipment hydraulic systems.
• Ability to work on hydraulic and air braking systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Basic understanding and diagnostic ability of diesel engines.
• Hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs a must.
• Certifications or training: Safety, Brakes, Engine, Transmissions, Troubleshooting, Suspension Systems.
• Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to travel to job sites (FL, GA and/or AR) and overnight stays.
• Work in outside conditions.
• Self-starter and able to work independently with little supervision.
• Prioritize workload and daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular routine preventative maintenance service on Construction Equipment.
• Respond to service call requests and perform repairs or maintenance as scheduled.
• Troubleshoot service issues with Equipment Manager and coordinate with vendors.
• Complete work orders and confirm equipment is safe and operable.
• Must have welding and burning ability.
• Complete electronic work orders daily.
• Work safely per Moss Safety Guidelines and Policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
