Job summary

Fencecrete America, Inc. is seeking a full-time Fleet & Equipment Mechanic to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair our fleet of trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment used in fencing and precast concrete operations in the Houston area.

You will keep equipment productive and safe by minimizing downtime, ensuring DOT compliance, and maintaining service records. Independent work ethic and hands-on skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a diesel/heavy equipment or fleet mechanic, preferably in construction or fencing operations.
• Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment.
• ASE certification preferred; CDL a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Complete DOT inspections and maintain compliant documentation.
• Respond to field breakdowns with on-site repairs or towing coordination.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and repair records.
• Order parts and manage inventory with vendors.
• Weld and fabricate minor repairs as needed.
• Inspect equipment and flag safety issues before job sites.
• Keep shop organized and compliant with OSHA.
• Train field crews on equipment care and inspections.
