Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking an experienced PCV driver with knowledge of County Durham to join the Fleet Section and support adult day care, school transport and demand-responsive services. You will drive safely and provide excellent customer service while adhering to regulatory requirements.

The role requires a valid PCV licence and CPC, with pre-employment driving assessment and DBS disclosure checks.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) driver with geographical knowledge of County Durham to join our Fleet Section.

What is involved?

The Fleet operate a range of passenger transport services from Morrison Busty and Chilton depots. This provides transport for adult day care, home to school and demand responsive Link2 and Access Bus shopper services.

We are now looking to recruit a new driver to the fleet who can drive safely and competently, provide a reliable and punctual service and ensure a high level of customer care at all times.

What will I need?

• Current full Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) Licence
• Current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)

You should have knowledge of relevant passenger transport legislation and regulations, together with significant relevant experience of driving a range of passenger carrying vehicles.

If successful, you will be required to undertake and pass an in-house driving assessment as part of our pre-employment checks before any offer of appointment can be confirmed.

If successful, you will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.
