Job summary

Johns Manville is seeking a Fleet Driver in Hillsboro, TX for a full-time role. The successful candidate will deliver full truckloads to jobsites and warehouses, while safely operating a commercial vehicle under DOT regulations.

This solo-driver position requires a CDL A with HazMat, current medical certification, and the ability to tarp, strap and chain loads. Responsibilities include planning routes, maintaining logs, and occasionally working in a warehouse with forklift operation.

Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $35.14.

This position is responsible for communicating and supporting JM core values and delivering the JM experience. Drives and operates a combination of trucks and vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight of more than 26,001 pounds and that requires a Class A license and HAZMAT certification.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver full truckloads of Johns Manville products to jobsites and warehouses.
• Safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations.
• Full time position - solo operator
• Loads dispatch out of Hillsboro, TX daily by planning routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules.
• 5-day operation with some weekend exceptions; some overnight travel- Must be flexible with scheduling
• Equipment: primarily flatbeds with some dry vans
• Interstate deliveries (TX), and Intrastate locations such as but not limited to OK, and LA.
• Drivers must keep a detailed driver log, consisting of mileage, travel time, and sleep to document that they have complied with the regulations set in place by the Department of Transportation.
• Drivers must have the physical capabilities required to drive a truck for long periods of time and be strong enough to tie down their loads properly to safely transport load.
• Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
• Perform vehicle inspection reports
• Must use personal protective equipment as required and adhere to safety protocols
• Will be required to operate a forklift and work in a warehouse
• Assist with other tasks as needed.

Leadership Responsibilities:

• There are no supervisory responsibilities for direct reports for this position.

• Proven track record of at least 5 years of safe and verifiable driving experience
• Current Medical Certification
• Valid Class A CDL with HazMat Endorsement
• Ability to meet Johns Manville's driving qualifications
• Ability to safely operate a forklift
• Ability to pass a drug screen test
• Must be able to tarp, strap, & chain loads to maintain cargo security and safety
• No DUI/DWI convictions
