Job summary

Johns Manville is seeking a warehouse associate to operate forklifts and clamp trucks, loading and unloading materials and ensuring accurate inventory and shipment preparation. You will work 12-hour rotating shifts, with overtime, nights, holidays and weekends as required.

The role requires at least 1 year of forklift experience, strict adherence to safety procedures, and active participation in training new staff. A strong focus on accuracy and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year forklift/clamp truck experience.
  • Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Must follow safe work practices and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, transport, and inventory finished products, raw materials, racks, pallets, machinery & equipment manually or with forklifts or clamp trucks.
  • Handle materials across all areas including trucks, departments, and yard.
  • Record quantities and descriptions of materials; verify records for accuracy.
  • Prepare goods for shipment using SAP and JM scanning equipment.
  • Clean, inspect and prep trucks for loading; operate power sweepers and scrubbers as needed.
  • Perform routine safety checks on mobile equipment and report hazards.
  • Assist in training of new or transferred employees.

Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $22.09.

The rate of pay is $22.09 per hour to start, plus benefits that include health, dental, vision, 401K plan, life insurance, and tuition assistance.

Schedule

Schedule is 12 hour rotating shifts. Must be able to work overtime, nights, holidays and weekends.

What You Bring to the Team
  • Minimum of 1 year forklift/clamp truck experience.
Your Day to Day
  • Uses safe work practices and reports hazardous conditions.
  • Wears eye, ear, head, yellow safety vest and face protection as directed.
  • Reports all unsafe working conditions to the Sr. Warehouse Crew Chief, Warehouse Crew Chief or Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Loads, unloads, transports, and inventories finished products, raw materials, racks, pallets, machinery & equipment manually or with a clamp truck, fork truck, hand truck, or other suitable equipment.
  • Handles materials in all areas: into and out of truck trailers; within or between departments, service and yard areas.
  • Counts and records quantity and description of materials or products produced, loaded, transferred, or otherwise handled.
  • Verifies quantity and description records initiated by others.
  • Performs physical, clerical, computer (SAP) duties necessary to prepare goods for shipment and is responsible for accuracy of shipment by using JM provided scanning equipment.
  • Prepares truck for loading by cleaning, sweeping, and inspecting
  • Operates the power sweeper, JLG and power scrubber as needed.
  • Performs routine operational and safety checks on mobile equipment.
  • Changes or refuels batteries using the multi shifter or hydrogen refueling station.
  • Reports damaged materials, products, or equipment.
  • Performs all clerical functions required to record damaged/hold/rejected materials.
  • Disposes of damaged/hold/rejected materials as instructed.
  • Re-bags, re-labels, or re-wraps material, stencils, and secures into a unit when necessary.
  • Patches outer wrapping before shipment.
  • Assists in the instruction and training of new or transferred employees
