JRJ Group is seeking a hands-on Rental Store Diesel Technician to keep our fleet of trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment field-ready and safe. You will perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs to meet our high standards and support customer uptime.

In this fast-paced role, meticulous attention to detail, safety, and timely communication with rental managers and drivers are essential. We value skilled technicians with CDL or willingness to obtain a DOT card.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of diesel technician experience in rental or construction fleet environments.
• High school diploma or GED required; certifications in diesel, equipment maintenance, or hydraulics preferred.
• Ability to diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Experience with small-to-medium construction equipment and trucks.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain DOT Medical Card (CDL is a plus).
• Strong problem-solving, safety awareness, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and diagnostics on diesel engines and power systems used in rental trucks, trailers, skid steers, mini excavators, compressors, and other fleet assets.
• Conduct routine servicing including oil changes, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to ensure uptime.
• Prepare equipment for rental by verifying functionality, completing post-rental inspections, and addressing repairs promptly.
• Record maintenance work and inspections using internal logs; ensure DOT/OSHA compliance.
• Maintain a safe, organized shop; use PPE and assist with parts ordering and inventory as needed.
• Coordinate with rental managers, dispatch, and drivers to prioritize repairs based on schedules.
