Job summary

General-Waste is seeking a Diesel Technician to maintain, repair and perform preventative maintenance on our fleet of trucks, trailers and equipment. You will diagnose diesel systems and execute repairs to keep our operations moving efficiently.

Responsibilities include performing inspections, welding and fabrication as needed, documenting parts usage in our fleet software, and coordinating downtime with supervisors while following OSHA standards in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with chassis repair and preventative maintenance.
• Knowledge of suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems.
• Ability to diagnose malfunctions using diagnostic tools.
• Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems including braking.
• Welding, cutting and fabrication skills; engine repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair diesel trucks and equipment.
• Perform welding and fabrication on trucks, trailers, dumpsters, or other fabrication projects as assigned.
• Handle service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Document parts usage in fleet maintenance software.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized shop; follow OSHA standards.
