Job summary

Driving Academy is looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain our fleet of trucks and buses. You will perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs, and ensure safety compliance.

The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of diesel vehicle systems and will manage a fleet of 35-40 vehicles. A valid commercial driver license class A is preferred, along with effective communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of apprenticeship, vocational training, or related experience.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of Driving Academy's fleet of trucks and buses.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain safety and organization in the mechanic shop.

Skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Extensive knowledge of diesel vehicle maintenance and repair

Proficient with related tools and computer diagnostic equipment

Analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues

Knowledge of diesel vehicle design and operation

Ability to read service and repair manuals

Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Three years of apprenticeship or vocational training

Valid commercial driver license class A preferred

Tools

Hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, etc.)

Power tools (pneumatic wrenches, lathes, etc.)
