Job summary

Blue Ridge Energy is seeking a skilled Vehicle & Hydraulic Mechanic in Boone, NC to support our Watauga District fleet. This hands-on role maintains trucks and specialized equipment used by crews serving members and customers across the High Country.

Responsibilities include diagnosing diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, and brakes, performing preventive maintenance, and completing DOT inspections.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of vehicle mechanic experience.
• Knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, drivetrains, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Valid CDL and safe driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain trucks, heavy equipment, bucket trucks, and digger derricks.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and major mechanical repairs.
• Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines, air brake systems, and hydraulic equipment.
• Complete DOT, state, and hydraulic inspections.
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns and emergency repair needs.
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
