Job summary

Schneider in Putnam, CT is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Specialist to assist drivers with equipment issues and coordinate diagnostics and repairs. You will respond to calls, assess breakdowns, and guide temporary solutions while ensuring DOT compliance.

Experience in diesel or automotive repair and solid communication skills are important. The role is full-time, on-site with competitive benefits and a weekend differential.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in diesel technology preferred but not required.
• One plus years of diesel or automotive repair experience.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming calls and messages from drivers when they experience truck and trailer issues.
• Provide guidance and temporary solutions to drivers in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Diagnose equipment breakdowns and identify the best way to proceed.
• Review detailed repair estimates.
• Create and update work orders about the status of repairs and vendors.
