Qualifications

Description

The City of Concord is seeking a Fleet Body & Maintenance Technician/Welder. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and enjoy working with a motivated team. This role offers an excellent benefits package, including a defined benefit retirement plan.

Work Schedule:

Days, Monday - Friday, with overtime required.

Job Summary:

Performs skilled auto and truck repairs, minor painting and body repairs on various vehicles and equipment, and welding/metal fabrication.

Examples of Duties:
  1. Perform repairs and maintenance on automotive and heavy-duty vehicles, including collision repairs and rust prevention.
  2. Order parts and materials as needed.
  3. Prepare vehicles for auction and install accessories.
  4. Maintain repair records.
  5. Fabricate parts and perform minor welding.
  6. Attend training and maintain personal tools.
  7. Work overtime during emergencies.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED, with at least six years of relevant experience or equivalent. Valid Driver's License required; CDL B and NH State Motor Vehicle Inspector licenses to be acquired within 12 months.

Materials and Equipment Used:

Torch, welding equipment, grinders, drills, hand tools, painting equipment, diagnostic scanners, computers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of automotive painting, repairs, welding, and metal fabrication. Skilled in using various tools and performing repairs and welding. Ability to follow instructions, interpret manuals, and perform physical tasks including lifting and climbing.

Working Conditions:

Work near moving parts, chemicals, and in various weather conditions. Use of protective gear is required.
