Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is hiring a Full-Time Automotive Mechanic Intermediate to maintain and service our fleet across multiple locations. The role focuses on safe vehicle operation, timely repairs, and quality customer service to patients and teams.

The ideal candidate has 2 years of hands-on mechanic experience, a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and ASE/MACS certifications. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for qualified full-time mechanics.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a current valid driver’s license.
• 2 years verifiable Line Mechanic or Mechanic Helper / Associate experience.
• 2 ASE Certifications (Truck or Automotive series).
• MACS AC Certification or equivalent ASE Certification.

Responsibilities

• Mechanic Intermediate performs mechanical and electrical repairs per policies and procedures.
• Responds to vehicle breakdowns in the field when requested.
• Utilizes parts computer program to locate needed parts and verify correct application.
• Mechanic Intermediate uses maintenance database to document all completed tasks / job assignments.
• Clearly document service paperwork as required and adhere to policies and procedures while complying with the company’s information security standards.
• Use appropriate communication methods to help facilitate coordination of efforts between departments, vendors and team members.
