Job description

This is a unique chance to join King County Parks as our Fleet and Stores Administrator—a role central to keeping our parks running smoothly. You’ll support essential fleet and inventory processes, improve systems, and support teams across the division. The work is both challenging and rewarding, offering the opportunity to solve problems, strengthen relationships, and make visible improvements in how we serve the public. Ideal candidates will be drawn to the impact of this role: ensuring staff have what they need when they need it, so our parks and trails remain safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for everyone.

About the Role:

The Fleet and Stores Administrator will play a vital role in supporting King County Parks’ mission to steward public spaces and serve our community. This position ensures our various teams have the vehicles, tools, and materials they need to maintain parks, trails, and natural areas across the county. By assisting fleet operations, improving inventory and asset tracking, and advancing data driven processes and reporting, the role directly enhances our ability to deliver reliable, equitable, and environmentally responsible services.

You’ll join a collaborative, service-oriented team that values transparency, continuous improvement, and a commitment to equity in every aspect of our work. Your work supports staff across the division by maintaining reliable data, clear procedures, and accessible information systems that enable timely decision-making. In this role, you’ll play an essential part in strengthening operational efficiency and supporting the teams who care for the spaces the community relies on every day. This position follows a hybrid work model, blending remote and in-person work.

About the Team:

The Fleet and Stores Administrator is part of the Parks Director’s Office, a section that provides strategic, administrative, and operational support across the entire Parks Division. In this role, you will work closely with Parks Maintenance Operations and other work groups to ensure staff have the resources, tools, and dependable fleet services needed to care for parks, trails, and natural areas countywide.

The Director’s Office team values collaboration, clear communication, and a culture centered on equity and continuous improvement. We strive to create systems that support fair access to resources, reduce environmental impacts, and promote long-term stewardship. By contributing to these efforts, you will help ensure our teams can provide safe, welcoming, and well-maintained public spaces for all communities in King County.

Commitment to Equity, Racial and Social Justice:

King County, named after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is a diverse and vibrant community that represents cultures from around the world. We prioritize equity, racial and social justice, making it a foundational and daily expectation for all employees. As a Fleet & Stores Administrator, you will actively apply these principles in all aspects of your work. Learn more about our commitment at http://www.kingcounty.gov/equity.
