Job summary

Bell Flavors & Fragrances LATAM in Northbrook, IL is seeking a Reactions Operator – USDA to support the flavor manufacturing process in collaboration with USDA. You will operate and monitor reaction equipment, ensuring precise chemical reactions and high-quality flavor compounds through strict SOP adherence.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus experience in chemical manufacturing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in chemical processing or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in chemical manufacturing or a similar production environment; experience with reaction equipment and processes is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions and procedures.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Willingness to work in a physically demanding role and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Operate reaction equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to initiate and control chemical reactions.
• Monitor reaction parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates, to ensure adherence to specifications and safety protocols.
• Conduct quality checks on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to maintain product integrity and consistency.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor maintenance tasks as needed to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation to comply with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials, to maintain a safe working environment.
