Job summary

Timpson Transport is seeking experienced Class A CDL Flatbed Drivers to transport oversize and heavy freight throughout Michigan, with occasional out-of-state trips. You will operate flatbed and multi-axle equipment, securing large loads like precast panels and bridge beams, while maintaining DOT/HOS compliance and coordinating closely with dispatch.

The role offers strong earning potential with home most nights, a Monday–Friday schedule, and an assigned truck.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• 2+ years of applicable commercial driving experience.
• Flatbed experience.
• Experience with oversize/heavy freight.
• Strong load-securement knowledge.
• Ability to accommodate overnight/out-of-state trips.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A flatbed and multi-axle equipment.
• Transport oversize, overweight, and specialized freight.
• Haul precast concrete panels, bridge beams, road barriers, and other heavy loads.
• Properly secure large and irregular freight.
• Follow load permits, approved routes, escort requirements, and travel restrictions.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain DOT and HOS compliance.
• Coordinate with dispatch regarding routes, delivery schedules, and customer requirements.
• Safely navigate construction sites and customer facilities.
• Maintain assigned equipment and report maintenance concerns.
• Complete required load and driver documentation.
• Accommodate occasional overnight and seasonal weekend assignments.
