Job summary

Diehl Collision is expanding and seeking an Experienced FLAT RATE Body Shop Technician for Collision Repair work. This full-time role offers excellent earning potential and benefits.

You will examine damaged vehicles, plan repairs, and work with a team to ensure high-quality results while meeting on-time targets. The ideal candidate has frame machine experience, I-CAR welding certification, and the ability to supervise an apprentice.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to use a frame machine and perform precise collision repairs.
• Ability to supervise an apprentice and guide repair tasks.

Responsibilities

• Examine damaged vehicles and plan repair sequence.
• Coordinate with team on repair status and communicate progress.
• Ensure repairs meet quality standards and stay on schedule.
• Decide between repair vs. replacement considering safety and cost.
• Dismantle and access components to reach damaged areas.
• Attend all required safety meetings.
• Grind and finish repaired surfaces with tools.
• Supervise an apprentice when needed and explain procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Examines damaged vehicle and efficiently plans repair process.
• Works and communicates with others on vehicle repair status.
• Performs quality repairs while keeping on-time status in mind.
• Makes decisions on repair vs. replace considering safety, cost and cycle time.
• Removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle and fenders.
• Participates in all required safety meetings.
• Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools.
• Directs the work of an apprentice in the performance of tasks when needed, i.e., unusual problems or questions and explains procedures to assistant.

Requirements:

• Ability to use frame machine.
• Certification in body repair preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer.
• I-CAR welding certified.
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.
• Ability to supervise repair personnel.
