Job Summary

The Truck Driver is responsible for operating vehicles weighing less than 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight to deliver goods to customers and operations, as well as picking up materials from vendors and other locations.

Hourly Pay Range: $22 per hour, dependent on experience*

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely drives vehicles to deliver products in various weather conditions
• Completes pre-trip and post-trip inspection sheets
• Inspects equipment to ensure safe operating conditions, checks oil and fuel prior to departure
• Secures and inspects loads to ensure proper securing
• Follows all safety, DOT, and company rules
• Performs preventive maintenance and keeps the truck clean
• Maintains driving records, logs, and shipping documents as required
• Uses radio/telephone and EOB Electronic On-Board System to communicate with base or supervisor
• Verifies shipping documents for accuracy and obtains customer signatures upon delivery
• Completes necessary paperwork
• May operate a forklift for loading and unloading as required, following company policies
• Completes training as mandated by management
• Participates in safety, continuous improvement, and other meetings and programs
• Performs additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Minimum high school education or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience driving vehicles under 26,001 lbs; 3-5 years preferred
• Knowledge of vehicle parts and minor repairs to maintain equipment
• Valid Class D Driver’s License required
• Successful completion of forklift licensing process
