Job summary
IBA is seeking an R&D Research Expert in Philadelphia to drive FLASH proton therapy research, coordinate cross‑site teams, and oversee HW/SW solutions for ProteusPLUS/ProteusONE systems. The candidate will work closely with IBA R&D in Belgium and Philadelphia customers to advance clinical and radiobiological research.
The role requires a Master’s in Physics or Engineering (PhD preferred), 2+ years in beam physics ownership, and strong troubleshooting and communication skills to align with
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Physics or Engineering; PhD preferred.
- At least 2 years of beam physics system ownership for a ProteusPLUS site (or equivalent).
- Experience as an Experienced (Level 3) Engineer for Beam on the TCM.
- Knowledge of cyclotron operations, beam health monitoring equipment and dosimetry tools.
- Proven ability to lead troubleshooting efforts regarding beam issues with successful results.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage customer relationships with local teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, deliver, install and handover HW/SW solutions for FLASH research on ProteusPLUS/ProteusONE.
- Coordinate on-site follow-up and corrective actions for IBA R&D teams.
- Consolidate FLASH activities and report progress to Steering Committee.
- Collaborate with Belgian HQ and Philadelphia research teams to advance FLASH research.
