Job summary

IBA Proton Therapy in Philadelphia seeks an R&D Research Expert to advance FLASH proton therapy. You will collaborate with our Belgium team and the University of Pennsylvania, advancing hardware, software and radiobiology research on ProteusPLUS/ProteusONE and contributing to the first human clinical trial in conformal FLASH.

The role requires a Master’s in Physics or Engineering (PhD preferred) and 2+ years in beam physics ownership, with strong communication and customer-relations skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physics or Engineering; PhD preferred.
• 2+ years of beam physics ownership for a ProteusPLUS site (or similar).
• Experienced (Level 3) Engineer for Beam on the TCM.
• Knowledge of cyclotron operations, beam health monitoring equipment and dosimetry tools.
• Proven ability to lead troubleshooting related to beam issues with successful results.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Complete design, delivery, installation and handover of HW/SW solutions for FLASH research on ProteusPLUS/ProteusONE.
• Monitor performance and coordinate on-site follow-up and corrective actions for IBA R&D teams.
