Job summary

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is seeking a Flagger for our local operations to direct traffic safely in work zones and guide equipment around hazards.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a Flagger certificate preferred, and the ability to work days, nights, or weekends. A Florida driver’s license and passing drug/background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Flagger certificate preferred but not required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience preferred.
• Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed.
• Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Florida driver’s license.
• Employer conducts drug testing and background check.

Responsibilities

• Direct traffic safely in and through work zone.
• Direct site equipment near traffic, hazards, and obstructions.
• Communicate with the public professionally.
• Protect workers by keeping workspace free of traffic and hazards.
• Communicate via two-way radio with coworkers for safe traffic movement.
• Follow safety practices and procedures.
• Occasionally assist crew as needed.
• Stand/walk for prolonged periods and work outdoors in inclement weather.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must be able to direct and control traffic safely in and through work zone
• Direct site equipment when working in close proximity to traffic, hazards and obstructions
• Communicate with the public in a professional manner
• Protect workers by keeping workspace free of traffic and warning them of approaching hazards
• Being observant of surroundings at all times and communicating via two-way radio with co-workers to ensure the safe movement of traffic
• Followsafe practices and procedures
• Occasionally assist crew as needed
• Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time and be able to work outside in inclement weather
