Job summary

The Olympia School District is seeking an Assistant Coach at the high school level to support education, leadership, supervision and organization of the assigned sport/activity. You will work under the Head Coach and Athletic Director, guiding athletes and coordinating team activities.

Candidates should have prior coaching experience, current First Aid/CPR, and required training; you will ensure safety, enforce rules, complete required documentation, and communicate with parents and staff to

Qualifications

• Prior experience coaching at high school level or above.
• Ability to communicate respectfully with coaches, staff, students, parents and community members.
• First Aid/CPR/Concussion training completed prior to first day of practice; ongoing training within 2 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and organization for assigned sport/activity as directed by Head Coach and Athletic Director.
• Supervise athletes, managers and support personnel before/during/after practices, games and travel.
• Maintain knowledge of rules and regulations related to the sport/activity and student participation.
• Report unsafe equipment or facilities in writing to Head Coach.
• Enforce safety procedures daily and monitor compliance with policies and rules.
• Report violations of rules to Head Coach and Athletic Director within 24 hours.
