Job summary

Summit Polymers is seeking a skilled Fixture Technician to build, repair and improve fixtures and secondary equipment on the shop floor. The role involves dismantling, re-assembling, welding or brazing as needed and maintaining fixture performance.

Reports to Maintenance or Engineering Manufacturing managers; requires hands-on use of hand and power tools, ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and adherence to safety and QA standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience leading to technical journeyman work in fixture building and repair.

Responsibilities

• Build and repair fixtures.
• Review and improve fixture designs.
• Prepare quotes on new fixtures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on fixtures and secondary equipment.
• Troubleshoot and reassemble fixtures and components.
• Design and build manufacturing equipment such as work stations and conveyors.
• Test fixtures to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain records of repairs and inventory.
• Train personnel in proper use of fixtures.
